Cookie Policy
1. What this policy explains
This policy explains how Hatch Creations Limited, trading as Hatch, uses cookies and similar technologies on https://www.hatchcreations.com/. It should be read with our Privacy Policy at https://www.hatchcreations.com/legal/privacy-policy.
A cookie is a small file stored on a device. Similar technologies can store or read information from a browser or device. Some are necessary for a website or service requested by the visitor. Others, including analytics and external-media technologies, require a choice before they are used.
2. How our consent controls work
Hatch uses the open-source Klaro consent manager. On a visitor’s first relevant visit, the consent panel offers a genuine choice. Non-essential services remain blocked unless the visitor accepts the relevant category.
Visitors can accept all available non-essential services, reject them, make individual choices, or reopen Cookie settings from the website footer and change or withdraw consent. The current configuration stores the choice for 180 days, although a new choice may be requested sooner if our use of cookies materially changes.
Google Analytics 4 is configured in basic consent mode. Analytics storage is denied by default and the Google Analytics tag does not load until analytics consent is granted. Advertising storage and related advertising signals remain denied in the current setup.
3. Cookie categories
- Strictly necessary — required to remember consent choices, protect forms, maintain security or provide a feature that the visitor explicitly requests. These cannot be switched off through the consent panel where they are essential.
- Analytics — helps us understand how consenting visitors use the website so we can improve content and performance. Analytics is off until consent is given.
- External media — allows third-party content such as YouTube videos to load. External media remains blocked until consent is given.
Hatch does not currently use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, CRM tracking, newsletter tracking or session-recording tools on this website.
4. Cookies and services we use
hatch_cookie_consent
Provider: Hatch / Klaro
Purpose: saves the visitor’s consent choices so the banner does not need to ask on every page.
Category: strictly necessary
Typical duration: 180 days under the current configuration.
Google Analytics cookies: _ga and _ga_ZWV3DN3Q7B
Provider: Google Analytics 4
Purpose: _ga distinguishes users and _ga_ZWV3DN3Q7B persists session state so we can understand website usage.
Category: analytics
Typical duration: up to 2 years by default, subject to Google and browser behaviour.
When set: only after analytics consent is granted.
Cloudflare security cookies: _cfuvid and, where used, cf_clearance
Provider: Cloudflare / Webflow
Purpose: _cfuvid supports Cloudflare rate limiting by helping distinguish visitors who share an IP address. Turnstile and related security checks help protect website forms from spam, automated abuse and security threats.
Category: strictly necessary where required to secure a requested form submission.
Duration: _cfuvid is a session cookie in the current website configuration. A cf_clearance cookie may be issued only if a visitor completes a Cloudflare challenge or pre-clearance process; its duration is controlled by the relevant security configuration.
Webflow forms and hosting
Provider: Webflow
Purpose: hosts the website, receives contact-form submissions and supports essential site operation.
Category: strictly necessary for the service or form the visitor chooses to use. Webflow form submissions are personal data even where no cookie is involved; see the Privacy Policy for how they are handled and retained.
YouTube video embeds
Provider: Google / YouTube
Purpose: displays video content on selected work pages.
Category: external media
When loaded: the YouTube player and associated Google/YouTube requests remain blocked until the visitor gives external-media consent. Google or YouTube may then set cookies or use similar technologies according to their own policies.
5. How to change or withdraw your choice
Use the Cookie settings link in the website footer to reopen the consent panel. You can switch analytics or external media off, or change your earlier selection. Withdrawing consent does not make earlier processing unlawful, but the relevant optional technology should stop loading on future page views after the preference is applied.
You can also delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may affect essential website functions. Browser controls do not always remove data already sent to a provider, so use the website consent settings as well.
