01
How we work
A good design can only be as good as the initial brief. That is why, at Hatch, our first aim is to extract as much information from you as possible before the first brainstorming sessions begin. A series of ideas and concepts will be presented and discussed and a chosen direction developed, this will then be refined until the final design is signed-off. You will be kept informed at every stage of the development.
At Hatch we aim to develop an excellent relationship with you. This is done by ensuring your targets, budgets and deadlines are met. From start to finish you will be in direct contact with the designers dealing with your project, who will do whatever possible to ensure your every need is met. Our passion for design and results is obvious in all that we do.
Hatch is small enough to care but big enough to cope.

Internship program
Hatch have successfully run an internship program since its inception in 1997. Notable for its comprehensive educational outreach, benefiting students not only within the borough of Greenwich but also internationally. Collaborative engagements have been established with a variety of institutions, including Twiin & Erasmus. With design majors from the universities of Iowa (US), RGU Aberdeen & the Media College Amsterdam (NL) have all benefited from hands-on experience of day-to-day life of our busy London based digital design agency not to mention the mentoring from our senior design leads.
Below are some of the kind words our new friends have relayed back.
"The Central University of Iowa has had a long and fruitful relationship with Hatch Creations Ltd. For many years Hatch has been taking US study abroad students, as interns for 15 week programmes, providing them with invaluable work experience in the field of graphic design. In feedback all students speak highly of their time at Hatch, the breadth of their experience and the skills and professionalism of the team. Long may this mutually beneficial relationship continue."
Mark Simmons – Executive DirectorCentral University of Iowa – London Programme
"It is always a pleasure to meet, teach & share knowledge with all of our interns. If there is a willingness to learn, we are more than happy to accommodate, it’s great to see them flourish in a relatively short space of time. I wish them all the very best in their chosen professions, and look forward to a reunion when I take the family stateside for a vacation ;o)"
James Dexter – Creative Director of Hatch Creations
"Working at Hatch was the experience of a lifetime. I was treated with great respect and given tasks that helped me immensely in my future jobs. My Hatch experience helped me land a great job at a publishing corporation when I returned to the States, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything."
Tara Veeder, Drake University (our very first intern at Hatch)
"Working in such an innovative studio alongside talented designers provided me with valuable design experience and insight into the profession. Not only did I return to the States with excellent portfolio work, but I also feel more prepared to enter into the work force as a young professional. After graduation, I intend to use my creative skills to work in the media industry."
Allison Maze, Drake University – Class of 2010
"Working at Hatch was the dream internship. The team were very committed to providing a positive work environment and to assigning me challenging tasks, which helped enrich my design experience while abroad. Their love of design and dedication to quality are aspects that I strive to maintain in my work today and into the future. My experiences at Hatch helped me expand my creative ability and led me to a wonderful graphic design job at the Iowa City Press-Citizen. I am thrilled to have been part of the Hatch family and could not have asked for a better internship experience."
Rebecca Skalsky, Central University of Iowa – Class of 2009"
Interning at Hatch has been an enriching experience, I was able to improve and expand my design skills as well as get the feel for an accomplished design agency while working in a positive atmosphere. Since interning at Hatch I have continued my studies and will continue onto graduate school in commercial photography. Interning at Hatch was definitely worth the trip to London. (Of course, the city itself is pretty amazing!) Its inviting, friendly work environment is very comforting to a young design student. There is a lot of opportunity for one-on-one contact with talented design professionals. Once I proved to Hatch my abilities in design, I was entrusted to help out with live projects. Overall, my experience as an intern at Hatch allowed me a peek into the real world of design. I felt this was an integral part of my graphic design education and I hope the internship program at Hatch continues for years to come."
Kristi Olberding, Loras College – Iowa – Class of 2009"
